Creating the Pages

After you have installed ArtistPress, move to the next step of creating the ArtistPress pages. In order to get the most out of the free version of ArtistPress there are four pages that should be setup. Theses pages are the ArtistPress Artist Profile, the ArtistPress Show List, and the ArtistPress Gallery and Album pages.

Creating the ArtistPress Artist Profile page

The instructions below will create the artist profile page. After you add your first ArtistPress Artist, you will need to return to this page to use the ID of the Artist post number to replace the X in the shortcode. Until then you will see a message on the artist profile page instructing you to enter an ID.

  1. From the Administration Panel, click on the Pages Menu
  2. Under Pages, click the “Add New” sub menu
  3. Give the page a title.  For the Artist Profile page I suggest using the name of the artist for the title.
  4. Enter the Artist Shortcode [artistpress-artist id="X"] in the content area.
  5. Save the page.

Creating the ArtistPress Show List page

The instructions below will create the page that displays your event list. Until you add venues and shows, this page will show an error message that reads “Sorry, No Shows Have Been Scheduled”.

  1. From the Administration Panels, click on the Pages Menu
  2. Under Pages, click the “Add New” sub menu
  3. Give the page a title. For the Show List page I suggest a title like, My Shows, Upcoming Show, Tour etc…
  4. Enter the Show List Shortcode [artistpress-show-list] in the content area.
  5. Save the page.

Creating the ArtistPress Gallery page

The instructions below will create the single Gallery page. After you add your first ArtistPress Gallery, you will need to return to this page to use the ID of the Gallery post to replace the X in the shortcode. Until then you will see a message on the profile page instructing you to enter an ID.

  1. From the Administration Panels, click on the Pages Menu
  2. Under Pages, click the “Add New” sub menu
  3. Give the page a title. For the Gallery you can title the page whatever you would like. The title will be displayed as the main heading on the gallery page.  It will also be displayed overlaying the preview image in the ArtistPress Albums.
  4. Enter the Artist Shortcode [artistpress-gallery id="X"] in the content area.
  5. Save the page.

Creating the ArtistPress Album page

The instructions below will create the Album page which provides a way to display multiple galleries on one page. After you add your ArtistPress Album, you can return to this page to use the Album slug to replace the X in the short code. If you would like to display a generic album that includes all of the galleries, don’t include the term="X" in the shortcode.

  1. From the Administration Panels, click on the Pages Menu
  2. Under Pages, click the “Add New” sub menu
  3. Give the page a title.
  4. Enter the Artist Shortcode [artistpress-gallery-album term="X"] in the content area.
  5. Save the page.
